Various Writing Requirements in Various Professional Websites

Summary of Topic
Various Companies use writing styles that reflect the nature of their business.
Government agencies use informative and persuasive writing to promote
ideas and inform the public of laws and future legislation. They can also use
it for the benefit of the populous by providing information concerning
common services. Businesses can use writing to promote their services and
inform consumers about their products.
VDOT
The Virginia department of transportation uses writing styles that effectively
inform the public about the road system. The information is primarily a
statement of fact.
McKinsey & Company
Specialty training provider. They use persuasive writing to promote their service. They also use
informative writing to back-up their product. Including but not limited to product summary.
Deloitte
Writing styles are also persuasive, but they use more modern formatting to appeal to a younger
audience. The writing style is similar to McKinsely & Company, but the writing style is more
modern and less formal.
Chevron
They use informative writing to inform consumers about products and humanitarian efforts. It
also serves as a venue for listing company policy. Persuasive writing is used here as a form of
marketing.
NIH
They use persuasive writing to promote healthy lifestyles. Information is also presented to
support opinions and research.
Conclusion
Many different writing styles are used in the professional world including persuasive,
informative and expository writing. These methods can be used in advertisement or simply in
facts and policies.
