The ISTE Standard that the website portfolio addresses and integrates is Model digital

age work and learning. This website portfolio takes ahold of the idea that teachers are now able
to integrate technology to make the learning environment stronger. This particular instance
allows the students and parents to access course materials at home as well as keep up with the
classroom and contact the teacher if needed. It also shows the students that the teacher
understands the new age of digital learning and that the teacher is willing and able to work with
the students in the era of technology.
I have learned from that it can be professional to have your own website portfolio and
that it can be helpful to me as well as my students and their parents. It gives the teacher the
ability to reach out and give a helping hand if needed. I also found that it takes less work than I
had imagined with the simplicity of a Weebly webpage. Eventually though, in my future
classroom, I would like to have my own personal site for my students and parents to visit freely
and without trouble.
I could use this in my classroom to reach out to ill students in order to help them keep up
with the work that they would be doing in class if they were there. I can also use this to connect
with the parents of my students and let them know who I am as a teacher as well as a person. I
would personally not only reach out to parents of struggling students, but I would make sure to
reach out to the parents of the students that are exceptionally well. I feel like this website would
be a great connecting factor in the classroom to make the learning environment extend to the
homes of the students.
To improve this website portfolio, I would probably include my resume and more contact
information for people to reach me. I would also like to blog more so that students and parents
can receive the true classroom feel and make the parents feel more comfortable with their
children being in my class. Overall, it is important to have a website portfolio because it fixes
common problems in a classroom such as different learning styles, communication, and home
life, and I would personally use this technology in my classroom because I do believe that it can
make a difference to at least one person per class.
