WARM MIX ASPHALT

Abstarct:
There is a increase of global warming due to release of green house gases while heating the
asphalt at high temperature and also increase in fuel price.so asphalt industry is looking for use of
alternative for hot mix asphalt.
one of the solution for the above problem is use of warm mix asphalt.
Warm-mix asphalt allows the producers of asphalt pavement material to lower the temperatures
at which the material is mixed and placed on the road.WMA solution allows reducing the working
temperature of asphalt upto 300 C .WMA technologies can be used with regular HMA for easier
compaction in extreme weather conditions and longer haul distance.The advantages of WMA are
reduced energy consumption, energy emission and improved workability.
This seminar is intended to overview of different technologies for production of WMA and
different kind and amount of additives for lowering the temperature.
