My name is Taylor Ciara Gillies and I graduated from Bentley High School in

Burton, Michigan with honors. I come from a decently sized family of four sisters.
Three of them are older, and one is younger. My family is my entire world and I have
no idea what I would do without any of them.
I was a member of several clubs including student council and National Honor
Society, both of which I held offices in. Now I am a member of a philanthropic
sorority through Epsilon Sigma Alpha (Beta Omega is my chapter), and I hold the
position of Youth and Collegiate Coordinator of the state of Michigan. In this position,
I work closely with other youth in ESA chapters across the state in order to
coordinate projects and fundraisers. I am responsible for getting them out and
helping in their community.
I have always been dedicated to helping those who happen to be less
fortunate than I am. I frequently volunteer with Whaley Children's Center, and also
for several events for St. Jude Children's Hospital. I have volunteered over 500 hours
of volunteer work in the past two years and I was recognized for this in my sorority.
I am a freshman at Saginaw Valley State University. I am currently pursuing
my degree in business management. Once I receive my bachelor's degree, I plan to
go to Wayne State University to pursue my law degree in order to practice corporate
law. I became interested in business management after working at Wendy's for two
and a half years and slowly working my way through the business ladder.
I am currently a shift leader with Wendy's in Burton Michigan. I am constantly
exposed to different levels of management throughout my time here. I work closely
with both the general manager and district manager in order to make the most
success of the store that we can. As a shift manager, I am responsible for
motivating my crew to run a smooth shift, filling out the proper paperwork for

opening and closing, as well as cash management. This position has taught me to
remain calm in times of panic, to be willing to work with others to accomplish the
greater goal, and to respect all the individuals I work with because each one has
their own strengths and weaknesses.
