Will this happiness ever be ours? Time creeps slowly by.

It seems to me sometimes
almost impossible that so many miles are between us for I
can hardly keep from going back. But never while life shall last will I be free
to give my undivided affections to anyone, anyone but you.
when I am awake I think of you and my sleep only presents to my enraptured visio
n her who calls my whole being into
action in plainer view than my waking moments can possibly do. The murmuring str
eam the beautiful garden the sabbath walk to church and everything
connected with childhood are green and fresh in my memory yet and when I think o
f them it touches a cord that thrills and trembles with regret, but duty,
stern duty has called me far away.
