Rep. Gwyndolen Clarke-Reed Demands Independent Investigation into Jones
Death
Rep. Clarke-Reed joined the Florida Legislative Black Caucus to urge Governor Rick Scott to order the Flo!
Department of Law Enforcement to investigate circumstances of the Palm Beach Gardens Police Department
officer-involved shooting that resulted in the death of Corey Jones.
Corey Jones was a 31- year-old man fatally shot by an officer in plainclothes on I-95 in Palm Beach Gardens.
Jones’ death has led to numerous unanswered questions about what occurred between Police Officer Nouman
Raja and the deceased.
Representative Clarke-Reed, a member of the Florida Legislative Black Caucus, gathered with her colleagues to
express concerns about the death of Jones. The members of the black caucus would like an independent
investigation conducted of the Palm Beach Gardens Police Department.
