What is Obesity?

Intro
Healthy Miners
Our pamphlet calls attention to the issue of
obesity and how it it has been affecting society.
It provides with important information about
the topic, charts and maps, and also talks
about healthy living and what can be done to
prevent obesity.

Cover
Contains a semantic search map centering
around the word obesity.
Words linked to obesity, such as disorder,
weight, and metabolism are shown in the front
picture.
This emphasizes the different aspects
of obesity and the many things that
contribute to it.

Cover
Red can be used as a positive color that relates to
our physical needs and motivates us to take action.
Hints of blue are included, which promote the
mental and physical relaxation.
Shades of yellow are used for caution concerning
physical illness.
Orange offers a positive outlook,
meaning positive outlook of obesity.

Ethos
To make our issue credible a Body Mass Index
formula and chart were included on the
pamphlet.
The BMI formula gives the reader the
opportunity to find their exact number.
Using their number and the chart as a
reference the audience can know where they
stand and can further relate to the issue.

Logos
A chart and map were placed to help with the
reasoning part of the brochure.
They both provide factual information about
obese people in the country.
The chart gives exact percentages of both men
and women in the U.S.
The map gives a comparison of how obesity
has increased in different locations over the
years.

Pathos
A story of a man who defeated obesity was
shared to the audience through the brochure.
It can relate to individuals who are struggling
through obesity and give them hope for
change.
Shilkus showed victims change was passible
by maintaining dedication , a healthy diet and
regular exercise.
