Reflection #2

On October 22, 2015, I observed Mrs.Seegerts ninth grade Spanish class. In the
time that I was observing I had walked into a classroom that eventually would have
three substitute teachers that know barely anything about Spanish substituting for Mrs.
Seegert. The first sub I met was a high school tech Ed. teacher. Having substitute
teachers in my personal opinion was hard to really focus on teaching ways because
sometimes the subs dont have any idea what they are doing. The second substitute
teacher was a math teacher. When he came into the classroom he read the paper Mrs.
Seegert had left him on her desk. This paper stated what each substitute had to do in
order to get the students focused and ready to finish the assignment they were given.
The students in the class, seemed to me, to focus well and not be wild when they
worked on their homework and projects.
The third substitute teacher was a biology teacher. She went through with the
new group of students on what to do during the class period and set them free. I really
liked how the substitute teachers really tried to help the students when they needed
help with the assignment. The substitute teachers really showed interest when the
students wanted their opinion on the homework. The biology substitute told me, Never
look away from what you really want to do, otherwise you might get left behind. Her
words stick in my head even while Im writing this. I had a wonderful time observing and
seeing something different.
