Reflection
The grade level and subject I chose was first grade
mathematics. My common core standard was, Use addition and
subtraction within 20 to solve word problems involving situations
of adding to, taking from, putting together, taking apart, and
comparing, with unknowns in all positions, e.g., by using objects,
drawings, and equations with a symbol for the unknown number
to represent the problem. The assignment in all was challenging
in some areas, and easy in others. For me the easiest thing to do
was coming up with summative questions. The most challenging
area for me was finding the difference between summative and
formative questions for this age and subject. Another challenging
thing to do was to find a way to involve technology into one of my
formative assessment questions. When I was creating this test I
realized how hard it was to create a summative and a formative
assessment. This assignment made me realize the importance of
creating a good assessment.
