Dear mom,
Hi mom I hope everything is good with you and the family. I really miss you guys
and sometimes I get homesick. I miss your food and everything. I am writing to you just
to let you know how my first weeks at CSUN are going so far. Let me tell you mom the
first day of class I was really nervous and scared to go to class. It was my math class and
the same day we had to do group work and I was like oh my God who should I go with?
But then I met this really cool girl, her name is Sofia, and this guy named Jose. Theyre
both really nice and we always do group work now so I guess you can say they are my
first two friends, well besides my roommates but you know what I mean. Anyways I
made it through my first day and since math is my only class on Mondays, I didnt have
anything else to do. Do you remember my friend Jasmine? Well she that they she called
me and asked if I wanted to hang out with her and I said yes. Since that day we hang out
like all the time. She is my real friend.
There is a really cool place that the school just opened its called Oasis and you
can go there to sleep or relax it is really cool so my friend and I go there sometimes when
we need a break. We also go eat everywhere like literally. They have like a little mall,
well thats how I call it, because inside they have Burger King, Panda Express, el Pollo
Loco and its awesome. Sometimes when we want Starbucks or Boba my tea, she takes
me to the places shes been to and its really nice that I have someone and not be that
lonely. You know she has been my friend for so long so Im really happy. These past
weeks have being really fun, since Jasmine is a senior she knows the whole campus and

shows me everything. if it wasnt for her I really dont know what I would do in this huge
campus. My roommates are also nice but Im not as close to them. Maybe later on we can
bond more.
But anyways you should come visit me one of these days, because its really
pretty out here. The campus is so green and alive I really like it. There are squirrels
everywhere and they dont even get scared of you when youre walking by. By the way a
lot of people ride either bikes, skateboards so I think dad should buy me one as well. I
know you also want to know about my classes well theyre good, everything is good so
far. I really like my religious class because there is a lot of debates and they are pretty
interesting and also I think my teacher is really cool. Well mom I could tell you plenty of
things that had happened to me during these few weeks but I wish I could tell you in
person better. Come visit me soon and bring my dad, I also miss him a lot and my crazy
sister.
