Research Proposal
What factors are contributing to the growth of soccer in the U.S. and
how can we become a global power in the sport? I ideally would like to
discover what is contributing to the explosion of soccer in the united states
and what still needs to be done in order to make the U.S. an elite soccer
country. I need to research and find out information relating to how the MLS
and U.S. soccer are marketing the sport to make it more appealing, how we
are developing players at a youth level and how can soccer become the most
popular sport in America. I believe if the right decisions are made by U.S.
relating to how players are trained and developed that soccer can become
the most popular sport in America and the best soccer nation in the world. I
have played soccer for the majority of my life, I am a certified NCYSA coach,
and I watch professional soccer regularly. I have a vested interest in the
sport to say the least and I want others to enjoy the game like I do.
