Aeration

The aeration system is designed for the activated sludge process must be adequate
to 1, satisfy the COD of the waste 2, satisfy the endogenous respiration by the
biomass 3, satisfy the oxygen demand for nitrification 4, provide adequate mixing 5,
maintain out the minimum dissolve oxygen concentration through aeration tank .
Aeration process reduces the BOD and COD demand of wastewater by providing
oxygen.

Secondary sedimentation tank

Secondary sedimentation tank is used to remove the subsequent quantity of sludge
particles. It removes the mostly saleable particles, biomass to provide the final
stream of treatment. It allows the microorganisms and other solids to settle after
secondary or biological treatment.

Sludge tank
Sludge tank carries the sludge from other subsequent streams in operation. The
sludge is collected from screening, primary and secondary sedimentation tanks.

Sludge dryer
In a typical sand drying bed sludge is placed on the bed in the form of layers and
allowed to dry. Sludge dewaters by drainage through the sludge mass and
supporting sand and by evaporation from the surface exposed to the air. Most of the
water leaves the sludge by drenage thus the provision of an adequate under
drainage system is essential. The drying beds are equipped with literal drainage
lines(plastic pipes or clay pipes with open joints.).
