Dear Ms. Martino,

I would like to apply for the Management Training Program offered by Enterprise. I spoke with a
representative from Enterprise at the UNM Business & Accounting Career Fair held on
September 17th. He informed me about the value of the program, and I believe that my
experience in the hospitality industry, and the knowledge I have gained from my education at the
University of New Mexico, and from my parents (who are business owners and managers), will
allow me to make a positive contribution to my local Enterprise branch.
My experience as a hotel front desk clerk has taught me a lot about the hospitality industry. By
working closely with the management staff, I have gained insight into the business and
management aspect as well. The customer service experience and management knowledge I have
acquired as a hotel front desk clerk can easily be transferred to the Management Trainee position
because customer service and management is equally important in both businesses. I understand
the importance of being friendly, professional, and proactive when interacting with customers.
Also, I recognize the value in establishing healthy relationships with guests to build loyalty. My
involvement with the hotel management staff has taught me about organization, how to properly
resolve complaints, and how to plan effectively.
My education in business and management at the University of New Mexico (UNM) will aid me
in the Management Trainee positon. For example, I am currently taking a course in accounting,
and thus am learning how to read and prepare financial statements. Additionally, I am also taking
a management course, which will allow me to use the data from the financial statements to make
informed and effective decisions. I have also gained much knowledge from my parents about
business and management, such as complying with business laws, how to interact with
employees and co-workers, and various ways of financing, which will also prove useful in the
Management Training Program.

I would like to thank you for taking the time to consider my application, and am excited to hear
your response. If you have any further questions, or would like to meet, please call me at 505554-6269 or e-mail me at djsu@unm.edu.
Sincerely,
Daljit Singh
