Objectives (LO)

Grade 4 ages 8-9 years.

Egg, robot, sound of the
letter, home, finger, box,
under, everywhere,
upstairs, recycle, high,
buildings and floors.

I seated my students on the floor in a semi

circle. I stuck the letters f, u, e, b, r, and h
on the whiteboard. And I scattered the
pictures that begin with same letter all
over the class. Pictures of robot, egg,
finger, home, under and box. I have asked
my students to first tell me the sound of
the letters on the board. And they all recall
the sound altogether to practice the
sounds and revise them. Later I asked
them to match the pictures with their first
letter sound.
I then seated my students in a circle and
asked them to play a mini game. This
game was to help my students remember
the sounds of the letters. So the game was
basically student A says a word example
snake. And student B will say the sound of
the first letter of the word so in this case
the student B will say the sound of the
letter S.

Students solved part A of page 26 which

was basically matching the pictures with
sounds. And writing words with the similar
sounds they have chosen in the book.
Part 2.
I had pictures of the following words
everywhere, upstairs, recycle, high,
buildings and floors.
Note they know the words already from the
pervious lesson. I had pictures to help
them remember the words only.
We played a small game for every picture
the students had to spell the word for the
picture. It was a bit challenging as
students could not remember the correct
spelling.
Later students individually solved page 26
part B which was fill in the blanks using the
above mentioned words. I made them do it
alone to check students understanding of
the words and can they know where to
place the correct word in the correct blank
place.
AssessmentsAssessment will occur during my
observation as they are working.
I revised the following letters sounds f, u,
e, b, r, and h.
