Running Head: ANNOTATED BIBLIOGRAPHY

Research Questions
1. How reliable are Forensics methods in cases?
2. In what ways can these methods be improved?
3. Are there cases that have been compromised because of inadequate practice?

This article is about an unsolved murder case of a six year old girl. It gives details into
the case, and what went wrong for the family and law enforcement when beginning the
case. This is significant because this provides a clear example of a case that was
corrupted. This is also significant because it shows what the price of a compromised case
can cause. This can be used as an example of malpractice in a case, it is also relevant with
what I am trying to prove in my research questions.

Retrieved October 3, 2015, from http://www.pbs.org/wgbh/pages/frontline/criminaljustice/real-csi/forensic-tools-whats-reliable-and-whats-not-so-scientific/.
This article is about how many of the methods that are used in forensic science are not
truly scientific as they do not follow the scientific method. It goes on to discuss cases on
where this has caused some discourse amongst the general public. It is significant
because it provides examples of how forensics has caused trouble. It is also significant
because it fully lists reasons on why certain methods could not be covered as scientific.
The examples are a great way to introduce ways to create better options for many of the
procedures. I also plan to use the background knowledge to introduce some of the
methods to the audience.

ANNOTATED BIBLIOGRAPHY

This image is about a court case and the investigation of a matter. It has a jury that are
asking for DNA evidence, and a lawyer going past the question with other signs of
evidence. This shows how significant it can be when other signs of evidence can be
traced back to the actual person, as this can lead to less confusion during a case. This is
also significant because this helps the viewer understand the way certain cases may go
when in a court of law. I plan to use this source rhetorically showing how a little piece of
evidence can make a difference in the validity of a case.
