Give your opinion of which viewpoint most closely resembles the reality in the workplace. (15 Marks) ) According to Abraham Zaleznik, “Managers and leaders are very different kinds of people.” Outline how Zaleznik compares managers and leaders, and give your opinion of his analysis (10 Marks) Question 2 @ Explain why there is a necessity for corporate governance in an organisation, and outline the obligations of any company wishing to list on the Trish Stock Exchange. (12 Marks) (b) In his article “One More Time: How Do You Motivate Employees?” Frederick Herzberg distinguishes between maintenance (hygiene) and motivation factors. Give an overview of his theory, examples of both factors and outline his proposed solution to motivation in the workplace. Give your opinion of his approach (13 Marks) Question 3 (a) Distinguish between the vertical and horizontal organisation structure, noting the advantages and disadvantages of both. Explain what centralisation means in terms of delegation, and comment on which structure is more likely to be centralised.
