COURSE OUTLINE

NPTEL

T h e course is intended as a general introduction to plasma physics and is


designed with the purpose of presenting a comprehensive, logical and unified
treatment of the fundamentals of modern plasma physics.

This course is primarily aimed for first year post graduate students and beyond
or advanced undergraduate students meeting the subject of plasma physics for
the first time.

Physics

As a part of the course, and to introduce experimental research to the students, a


chapter on experimental techniques and basic plasma measurements are
introduced.
