Diploma Thesis
Model analysis of personality, emotions and motivations for
recognition of user behavior in Social Networking Sites.
Abstract
The Webs universal prevalence resulted into significant changes in form people
communicate. While the main purpose of the Web initially was to provide access to
information, Web2.0 has totally shifted this pursuit. A key factor for these changes is
the development of the so-called social media, social networks, and content-sharing
websites, which are gaining increasing popularity.
Despite the popularity of these websites, little is known about the factors that affect
human behavior on these social networks. Users content contribution is a crucial
parameter for the viability of internet communities, especially those solely based on
the activity of their members. Consequently, systematic study and understanding the
factors that regulate user behavior, and influence people to contribute towards
online communities is necessary.
To this end, a model for the recognition of user behavior based on online activity in
social networking sites is proposed. We present a theoretical model for the
recognition of user behavior, based on the literature about factors influencing
human behavior. Furthermore, we introduce an ontology and we apply the proposed
model to real data, in order to determine the application process and show that we
can identify primal behavioral characteristics from internet activity.
