1.5 hours

Lesson Outline
1. Give students each a copy of your school divisions BYOT/BYOD policy
agreement.
2. Read through it together and discuss as a class what each component
means.
3. Get students into groups of 3 or 4 and have them summarize the
contents into point form notes on Post-its
4. Then, together as a class categorize the Post-its into themes.
5. Co-construct with the students a suitable rubric/set of guideline for
them to follow throughout the course of the year.
6. Post the rubric/guidelines in the class.

Reflective Component
Students will write a short blog post addressing the following:
Identify the different components/categories that make up their
classroom BYOT guidelines.
Explain why each category is important.
What do you think would happen if school divisions didnt have
BYOT/BYOD policies to follow?
