Topic/Objective:

Name: Myron W.

Notes

Date: 11/16/15

Essential Question:
Investigate the molecular pathway through which light energy is transferred to chemical
energy and dispersed throughout an ecosystem
Questions:
Notes:
What is Carbon?
`
What is an
Autotroph?
What is a
Heterotroph?

Carbon:
-Make-Up of all living things
-Forms CO2
-Travels throughout the Ecosystem in multiple forms
Autotroph: Self feeding organism
-Energy is taken from the sun
-Carbon Dioxide is absorbed
-Creates Glucose
Heterotroph: Organism that feeds of others
-Uses Glucose made by Autotrophs
-Release CO2 as waste

What is
Photosynthesis?

What is ATP?

Photosynthesis: Process by which Autotrophs create Oxygen and

Glucose needed to make energy

ATP: Biochemical way to store and use energy

Summary: In this weeks notes, we learned about the Ecosystem and how energy is passed on within it. The 2 main
organism that contribute to this are Autotrophs and Heterotrophs. Through absorbing, and distributing, each give
off certain energies that they need to survive. Processes by the energy is made/consumed is Photosynthesis and
digestion. With this, organisms use ATP to store the consumed energy.
