Class/Period: Period 5
Date: 9/21/15-9/25/15

Essential Question: Investigate how Earth and its inhabitants have changed over time.
Questions:
What is evolution?

Notes:
Evolution is a process were organisms develop and change over
time.

How does natural

Selection relate to
Human evolution?

Humans evolved because certain features were more fit for the
environment, so those without them died while the features
became more common throughout generations.

What traits were

Better fit for human
Evolution?

Strength was better fit because people had to get food and protect
themselves. Speed was also better fit for the environment because
they wouldve had to outrun enemies and predators.

How did humans

Evolve?
Why is this

Humans began similar to animals, but through various generations,

they gained the appropriate genes to survive and became
dominant creatures.

Significant now?
Humans continue to evolve through communication, brains, et
cetera, and we should be aware of how we are changing.

Summary: Overall, evolution and natural selection have brought humans a long way. Weve become stronger, faster,
smarter, and overall better. Natural selection helped in this process because those who were more fit in these categories
were more likely to survive and reproduce. Meanwhile, those who werent probably died or reproduced with a more fit
person to create a better next generation. As humans, we should acknowledge this because we should be aware of how we
are evolving into bigger, better things.
