Whistles:

an empty soda bottle, which
they can decorate however
they like. Students will learn
to blow across the bottles
opening to make the whistle
sound.

train. This activity
encourages children to make
predictions about what they
believe will happen.

Students will compare
and contrast d ifferent
types of trains around the
U.S. and the W orld.

In this activity students will
be able to identify words
that have the same ending
(i.e. at, -ed, -am, -an) by
matching up different
boxcars to the correct steam
engine.
