Dear Prof. Dr. Ogden
As a teacher for the English 1A class you must understand the challenges and hardships that your
students undertake. From the late night essay writings to the constant strive to become a better
writer, it is a difficult experience. However I do believe that what you are doing is imperative to
student's success in many aspects of life not only their English Course.
Although the course is called English 1A, it covers so much more than just the basics of English.
It really helps people develop a voice and tone of their own to use in both creative and academic
writing. English 1A is so much more than just writing essays, it is about developing one's own
character and skills. By being able to write and understand concepts at this high level they
present themselves with an ability to do so in other classes.
The necessity for English 1A is not in question, nor do I want you to believe that I ever question
it, however I would like you to understand that I know that English 1A will come up later in a
not only in college but in life itself. Being able to present oneself to employers with a solid
amount of writing experience and a strong vocabulary makes them seem more professional and
more qualified. Without having a strong background many may struggle in life.
Sincerely,
Bryant Le
