INTRODUCTION
Origami is an art form that has been around for thousands of years. Origami is the art of
paper folding and is associated with Japanese culture. In ancient Japan, origami was strictly
for ceremonial and religious purposes but has evolved into more recreational uses. Today it
is a fun, easy, and inexpensive activity.
These instructions detail how to make an origami jumping frog. No special knowledge or
skills are necessary to complete these instructions and they are intended for any audience,
assuming literacy and the ability to fold paper. Failure to follow these instructions in order
may require starting over from the beginning and/or using a new sheet of paper.
DIRECTIONS
1. Position paper vertically as shown.
7. Cut using a scissors, or rip on the fold you just made (red line).
9. Unfold.
11. Fold the right and the left side to the middle to meet on the centerline.
12. Unfold.
15. Fold the right and the left side near the bottom to the middle.
18. Open the top (the first layer of paper) by folding it over to the right side.
21. Open the top and the bottom by folding the layers of paper from the right side over to
the left side.
25. Fold the right and the left side to the top so they meet on the centerline.
26. Fold half the right and the left side to the outside for all four flaps.
28. Fold the top half in half by folding it up towards the top.
29. Draw the eyes (you can add spots or anything you would like).
30. You will now have a completed origami frog. Congratulations! The frog can jump too!
