The route taken by the refugee ship, according to the X29809 Global Network
Angosturan Refugees arrived on an old, large ship in Uber, United
Vieille (U.V.) on Thursday, March 3rd, after sailing for seven
months towards a better life.
The refugees escaped a desolate wasteland where they experienced
starvation, poverty, and no government support. The conditions
during their journey were even more devastating than life at
home.
We met Sal Maxx at an ad hoc hospitality event yesterday evening
hosted by the government-owned organization, Crimson Cross.
The Crimson Cross, established in 2890, consists of physicians
that are hand-selected by the Emperor and provides medical care
to the entire country of United Vieille.
Maxx told Vieille Voice, Life in Angostura is difficult. Before the
War of Carnage in 2872, life was the same as it is here [United

Vieille]. Thats why my family decided to risk it all for this opportunity.
He went on to say, The nuclear weapons left so much radiation,
it is a wasteland of starving people living in poverty. There arent
even any trees. Who can live like that?
Maxx explained that the journey to U.V. was made by twenty
Angosturan refugees and led by Leiloni Miles, an elder, on the last
remaining seafaring ship. Angostura does not have hover crafts,
teleportation, or any other technology found in U.V. that facilitates travel. On their journey, only small portions of rice, beans,
vegetables and noodles could fit on the small boat. Robotic sea
monsters tried to overthrow the boat three times; somehow they
made it out alive.

Nuclear
weapon remnants found, archaeologist explains

On Tuesday, March 1st first several shreds of metal were discovered on the northern border of United Vieille (U.V.) near Lake
Lux. Archaeologist Karl Zulin first made the discovery around
1:00PM, and was accompanied by his research associate Rex
Kong. Based on the size of the fragment and chemicals found
nearby, Zulin believes the pieces may be remnants of a nuclear
weapon.
Police Chief Emeritus Angle and his AI assistants, teleported to
the scene on Wednesday to assist the archaeologists and mitigate
any threats to public safety. During a press conference later that
day Angle explained the outcome:
Based on observations [from the archaeologists], the metal found
is in fact a small portion of a nuclear weapon detonated around
the beginning of the War of Carnage. We secured the area using
an electromagnetic field. We anticipate this discovery will have
not impact the safety and livelihood of the surrounding communities.
Police forces secured the area, limiting access to the archaeologists
and those with written consent from Emperor Radius.
On Thursday, we interviewed archaeologist Karl Zulin to gain

insight into the historical context of this discovery:

In the year 2870, the former state of Irania developed advanced
nuclear weapons capabilities, and immediately waged war on their
enemy, the formal state Israelica.
He goes on to explain, The rest of the states were forced to take
sides, including the two opposing superpowers with advanced
nuclear weapons, the former United Staticas and Russianna. An
all-out nuclear war, the War of Carnage (2872), led to massive
devastation of former North America and the entirety of Asia. The
continent formerly known as Africa became desolate due to a lack
of resources.
The War of Carnage left only one continent untouched, the
former South America, which eventually became a single state,
United Vieille.
The only other state that remains today, Angostura, contains the
entire region formerly known as Asia. Angostura is currently
governed by Emperor Reznor, the brother of the U.V. Emperor
Radius. Angostura is a wasteland with only a few thousand survivors spread throughout, while U.V. remains lavish and plentiful.

Emperor Radius filed a defamation lawsuit with the Virtual

International Court on Wednesday, March 2nd against Reznor,
Radius brother and ruler of Angostura. He claims that Reznor
hacked into the Communication Billboards, which are located
in every building United Vieille, using a virtual machine he built
from scraps.
Reznor allegedly made false statements that are detrimental to his
image and undermine his authority.
Radius is keeping the majority of wealth away from his people
so that he and Zeetah [Empress to Radius] can live lavishly. He is
disregarding their needs and focusing only on himself, Reznor
said.
Emperor Radius is suing Reznor for @ [dollaz]10 billion in damages.

My people cannot be struck with fear. I have used advanced

algorithms developed over hundreds of years to distribute wealth
and resources evenly. I want everyone to have what they need.
Without my peoples trust, I am nothing, Radius boldly admits.
Reznor rules Angostura, where people are living in poverty and
starving. Ever since the nuclear war (2872), the country has no
wealth. The government has almost no power because of a lack
of resources, and its people are spread throughout thousands of
miles. United Vieille wants to be reconciled with Angostura, but
Reznor continues to refuse help.
Reznor denied his comments even though there is evidence via
recordings taken and stored in space drives.

Reznor cannot manage his anger. It stems from long-term jealousy.
Twins Reznor and Radius werent always separated. After a heated
dispute a hundred years ago, their parents flew Reznor to rule

Since the refugees escaped desolation and arrived in United Vieille last week, the government has not had a chance to respond. I
believe that we should accept the newcomers as if they were born
in our country. There are only two states that exist in our world,
and it wouldnt be right to send them back, call their authorities,
or prevent them from matriculating into our society.

I understand how some people fear the acceptance of hundreds of

refugees from Angostura, but we have to think of how we would
feel if we were in their situation. Our government allows plenty
of resources for each citizens, and a few more people will not hurt
any of these systems. If masses of refugees start arriving in the
future, we can revisit this issue. For now, there is no reason why
we cant accept them.

supply isnt hurting, but if our centrifuges need more in the future
there is no where else for us to go. We also need to keep civil ties
with Angostura. If not with Reznor, at least with his people who

Lets practice being considerate citizens, especially since these
Angosturans have nothing left. They traveled for months in the
hope of a better life, and they see a bright future for their children
here. Remember that nuclear weapons created this problem, not
these innocent people.
Lets not turn our backs on building an international community
and repeat the mistakes made by fellow man in the past.

Vieille Voice and to United Vieille Citizens,

United Vieille should not be responsible for taking care of the refugees from Angostura. Emperor Reznor needs to seek advice from his
brother and ask for help acquiring modern technology in order to create a better life for his people. For example, Radius could hand
over the Human-Placement X23856 Machine, which contains algorithms that determine where each citizen should be placed within
society for maximum productivity. With access to this machine, Reznor could begin rebuilding Angosturan society.
In U.V. we have become succinct with nature learned how to use the resources available to create a prosperous environment. The government provides for its people by determining the best fit for each member of society using advanced computer algorithms. As a result, we can take care of ourselves. I think we should lend a hand to help build up the country of Angostura and send then these people
back, instead of implementing this quick fix.

I hope to provide my insight as a simple tree farmer outside of the city of United Vieille. I believe that we should not help the Angosturan refugees. They came here uninvited, and we are not responsible for them. What are they contributing to our society, economy, and
culture?
Recently, our crops are not as plentiful as they used to be. We want to provide our people with plenty of agriculture, and the government provides us with enough money to do so. We work hard to grow as much as we can for the citizens of United Vieille and there
might not be extra for these refugees.
If we welcome these people into our society there is a potential for unemployment, which hasnt happened in U.V. for nearly four hundred years. If these people want to stay here, they better get to work quickly and start earning their citizenship.

much of a threat these refugees are to our society. Lets not live in naivety.
