Reflection
During this semester we wrote many different papers, and I believe that my best
piece was the profile. I wrote my profile on a close friend of mine who had an abortion;
throughout the paper we touch base on each section of her journey. It starts at her finding
out she is pregnant, to her decision making, then to the days leading up to the procedure,
her experience at the clinic, the journey she experienced after and finally we touched base
on her new feelings for abortions.
I believe this was my best paper because I write better papers that are focused
more and experience and feelings. I believe that I was able to capture her feelings nad
emotions as well as including my own. My groups online magazine was called Facts on
abortion and planned parenthood. We all had our own opinions on the topic yet we all we
able to jell as a group and learn about this topic from all of the different views points.
While I am for abortion, being in this group I was able to learn more about the pro life
believers as well ad learn about what Planned Parenthood really does.
For the profile paper I interviewed my close friend and documented her response
and reactions to my questions. One main challenge I had writing this piece was that I was
really connected to my friend. So during the interview I had a hard time trying not to
comfort her and tried to focus more on her story as a normal bystander would versus
thinking like a friend. I really had to sit there and listen and try not to think about my
feelings.
From the online magazine and this signature assignment I was able to learn more
about the issue I thought I knew plenty of. I thought I need the basic sides to abortion but

in reality I was only aware of one side, my side. This assignment helped me see the many
sides to an issue as well as how to work well with others who share different view points.
