Political Science 1100
Final Class Reflection
To think like a political scientist, one must consider what is best for everyone. In Project
2 I talked about this very thing. I said that when voting, you must consider whose standards are
the best for the country, not who is the youngest or most attractive. By enrolling in Political
Science, I have been able to better practice this principle. Before this class the people I wanted
in office were based on the opinions of my parents. Now, I pay attention to the political debates
and my opinions are based on what the candidates say.
Also from this course, many of my understandings have changed. For example, before
enrolling in this course, I had only heard of Obamacare, and had no idea what it was. I have
learned a great deal more about it I now understand what it is and what its intentions are. To help
me gain a better knowledge of this, we had a discussion in class where we looked at the
intentions of the ACA and the opinions against it. We then discussed these points and formed
our own opinions. My understanding of how the government works has increased as well. In
class we did a mock Senate session, had a mock President to Veto or pass the bills that had been
passed, and we had a Supreme Court decide if those bills were constitutional. This helped me
have an understanding of what happens during these sessions and what these three branches
really do.
After completing this course, I will approach politics in a different way. Instead allowing
the event to happen that angers me, I will stand up and make a difference. I will not let political

annoyances get to me anymore, I will speak out. I have learned that principle very well in this
class that if something angers me, I should take action and change it.
