Summery

There is an extensive amount of art and carvings down in these quarries. Quarries that
were capable to house thousands of men at a time. This is what caused the extensive amount of
art to accumulate in the tunnels beneath the war. The thousands of men slowly carved the
images they wanted to see into the walls. Images of women, poetry as well as other religious or
meaningful symbols were all carved into these walls and these sites remain untouched for
decades.
There has also been a recent opening of a cite that has been considered the holy grail in
respects to researching tunnelers in WW1. This site had an enormous impact on the war and is
also the site where an estimated 10,000 germans met their death because of the efforts of allied
tunnelers. The site will have a bomb disposal squad on stand-by because of the inevitable need
to dispose of explosive ordinances. This site has been kept un-touched for decades and
researchers are sure that there will be large quantities of artifacts from the war lining the walls of
the tunnels.
