give me examples of bodies of water? (Answer: rivers, lakes, oceans, etc)

Practice & Extend
1. Talk briefly about the call and response form of the song.
2. Sing the song again, but with half of the class singing the call parts and the other half
of the class singing the response. Divide students a different way (boys vs. girls, 7 year

phrases.
3. Then talk about the last line of the song. Teach the next verse of the song with a
different did you ever see a
4. Ask students, Can you come up with a different last line to the song? Who has an idea
of another line we could write that starts with Did you ever see a ____, ____ing a
____?
5. Allow students to share, maybe even go around the class? If only a few volunteer, sing
the song with each variation of the line.
Assess & Close

1. Sing song as a class one last time, and invite students to sing their favorite last line all
at the same time! Clarify that the song will sound crazy at that point, but the rest of the
song should be sung together.
