Course Reflection!

I feel that this assignment represents what I have learned in this class very well.

In English 1010 we had to learn how to look deeper into advertisements and visual
texts, such as billboards and magazine articles. We also had to learn the different view
points of issues that are going on in popular media, and explore why certain people
believe in certain things or take certain sides. My class learned that we make decisions
based on three things, logos, pathos, ethos, and kairos, each of these take form of
aspects that make people believable such as, ethics, time, the logic behind them, and
culture. We also had to learn about what kind of sources you should use for certain
papers and which ones were more reliable than the others, for intense academic
journals are most likely more reliable than magazine articles. All of these lessons that
were taught will help me in the future no matter what I go into and I am very glad that I
had a professor like Mr. Cole to help me and guide my learning through this class. I
thought I knew a lot about writing but he broadened my horizon and really helped me
with my writing skills. This class helped me get well prepared to write this issue
exploration paper to finish up my english credit. !
