Whats New in Career Education?
CCPRI is a comprehensive school improvement, accountability, and communication
platform for all educational stakeholders that aims to promote college and career
readiness for Georgia students and Georgia House Bill 186 mandates that Georgia
will align with the CCRPI Career Cluster Framework. So in elementary school, students learn about careers each year!
In kindergarten, 1st, and 2nd grades,
students learn about different kinds
of work, goal setting and decision
making, what it means to be a good
worker, and learn about occupations
in the various career clusters.
In 3rd, 4th, and 5th grades, students use
informal career inventories to identify
possible occupations and explore their
skills, are introduced to career decisionmaking models, continue to develop good
work-place skills, and learn about occupations in the various career clusters.
department is to advocate for
all students to achieve
academically by developing
programs which support each
students
intellectual,
personal/social and career
development. All students
are afforded the
opportunities for guidance
and support in becoming
life- long learners.

Information about Career Day
Dear Parents,
Career Day is rapidly approaching and we need YOUR experiences!
Whether you are a nurse, mechanic, astronaut, custodian or business ownerwe need you! We are looking for a variety of people interested in spending a
day talking to our students about their career. Many of our students are unaware of the career opportunities available to them and this is a fantastic way
to provide them with first hand knowledge of potential career paths. This is
also a great way for you to get involved at Chesney Elementary and make an
impact on the students future. If you are not interested but know someone
who is, please give them (or us) the necessary contact information. The 2016
Chesney Elementary Career Day is Friday, January 29, 2016 f rom 9:00-3:00.
Arrangements can be made for half-day participation. Thank you in advance
for your involvement!
