Stakeholders Communication Plan
Ms. DeNeal and I will use the Anecdotal Seating Chart as taken from Formative
Assessment Made Easy: Templates for Collecting Data in Inclusive Classrooms to take anecdotal
notes about students throughout daily class periods. We will each carry these seating charts on
our clipboards. I have provided a sample of what our seating chart might look like below.
This seating chart will serve as a space for us to take note of things like engagement in
discussion, understanding of content, volunteering to speak, and answering questions correctly.
Each student with an IEP will have a note next to their name on the seating chart, reminding both
Ms. DeNeal and myself of the goals we are currently working on with each student. This will
help us to focus on drilling for these goals throughout class, and making notes on any
improvements or otherwise.
This seating chart will also keep is regularly aware of our students in their surroundings.
When we notice that we have not taken note of any contributions the student has made
throughout the day, this will remind us to probe that student to ensure that they both demonstrate
their knowledge of the content and receive their participation points.
Results from this seating chart will be recorded and forwarded to parents, guardians, and
the special education coordinator on our campus through e-mail, telephone, or snail mail
respectively to ensure that all stakeholders are aware of the improvements (or lack thereof) that
the student has made and can be supported by all of the above. Any suggestions or concerns that
these stakeholders provide will be taken to account and monitored for recording on the anecdotal
seating chart as well.
