Franchise Owner Starbucks 11315 S Figueroa St Los Angeles, CA, 90061 Dear Mr. Fox: I was in Boyle Heights yesterday when I noticed the new Starbucks that is opening near a high school campus. Your advertisement outside the store for a store manager immediately caught my attention because my education and training closely parallel your needs. I also spoke to one of your close friends, and my current manager at Freudian Sip, Merilyn Mathews about the position and she believes I am the perfect fit for the position. I began to research the job duties a manager carries out which include efficiency in team building, leadership experience, preparation planning, and some experience with business. I have been working as a barista for a coffee house located inside my college campus for over a year. I won an award for employee of the month my 3rd month of employment and two months later I was promoted to supervisor. As a supervisor I gained leadership experience, usually working night shifts I would lead my team. Duties as supervisor included counting money and calculating the profit, making orders on supplies or food, keeping track of waste, assigning hours, and training new employees (team members). What I am most proud of is the relationship I have been able to establish with my co-workers. My subordinates tell me that they look forward to coming into work, despite closing, and other workers request to work when Im the leader on the floor. Intensive course work at California State University, Northridge in management and accounting has made me a proficient leader and employee. The demand in these classes has taught me valuable assets that I am sure will be helpful for managing your store. These classes have helped improve my customer skills and proficiency in using software programs such as excel and word, which are necessary for managers, After you have examined the enclosed resume for details of my qualifications, I would be happy to answer questions. Please call me at (323) 273-1051 to arrange an interview at your convenience so that we may discuss how my supervisor experience and interpersonal skills could contribute to your Starbucks. Sincerely, Carlos J. Cruz
