FLY-IN VACATIONS
Goat Lake Project
With the increase in customers this season we made the decision
to reopen Goat Lake. If this trend continues we may open more
camps next year.
This spring we flew up to Goat to see what was required to get the
camp ready for our quests, We also had the opportunity todo some
fishing. The Mantta's, Kyle (the boy's friend), Bob and Kelly Jr.
made alist of work to be done, and the boys spent a couple of hours
fishing atthe waterfal, The fishing that day was great, we caught
cover 40 walleye ranging from 12- 18 inches within afew hours. The
fishing continued to be excellent for our anglers during the
summer. You can catch fish throughout the whole lake with the
occasional larger walleye, Some fishermen caught speckled troutin
the stream atthe north end ofthe lake
MAKAI, KYLE, AND FYNN WITH THEIR WALLEYE FROM GOAT
We were busy this spring building a 12x12 dock, crib and walkway. Later in the season we were able to make additional
improvements. We added a second fridge, a new stove and put in a water system with cold running water to the sink along with a
garden hose at the gas shack. We plan to add hot water and a shower at Goat this season,Work Crew Report
Over the years our work crew has involved many fiends and
family members who help us with building and maintaining our
camps. Bobby Gregori has been with us for over 20 years and
now thathe is retired he spends a great deal ofhis time in the bush
building docks, decks and other jobs that need to be done. We
really appreciate all his hard work
We kept busy this year with many projects getting accomplished.
Docks, ribs and walkways are often damaged by ce and overtime
deteriorate and must be replaced. This season a new 14x 5 foot

crib and walkway was built at Anaharea, The walkway at Little Miss
from the shore to the dock was very long and difficult to take offin the fall and reconnectin the spring, Bob and Kelly Sr. redesigned the
walkway making it lighter and more user friendly. While there, they also raised the crib on the back dock to prevent it from flooding in
the spring
Lobo Lake is where we concentrated most of our efforts this September. Lobo was reopened about five years ago and has become
very popular with our fishermen. This fall we added a new 24 x 12 foot deck on the front of the camp. The camp gota facelift with siding,
1 picture window in the front and anew kitchen window. The generator and propane have been moved to the gas shack, centralizing
makes it easier on both our guests and staff, Glenn Lake, the portage, has been very popular with the anglers. The fishing is consistent
at Glenn with the occasional larger walleye or northern. This year we built a crib, a dock and added a second boat to make it easier for

Fishing 2015
Fishing can be a tricky business especially when weather conditions are so
unpredictable. This season we did have more sun and warmer temperatures
but we stil had our fair share of windy and rainy days.
‘This spring and fall Michi produced plenty of great lake trout for our anglers.
With the warmer temperatures in July the fish tend to find the cool
temperatures at the bottom of the lake.
Little Miss, Easey Point and Mosambik all had fantastic fishing. Dibben, one
of our smaller lakes that accommodates groups of two to six, had great
walleye and northern pike fishing throughout the summer. Duffy and Upper
Duffy are great locations if you are looking for some bigger northern. The
Dutfys also produce an abundance of walleye, Anaharea is a great lake if you
are looking forthe big one’. Anaharea had plenty of nice whitefish, northern
and lake trout caught
throughout the season,
Speckled trout fishing
is bestin early spring and
fall. Spyke lake fished
excellent this spring, with some anglers lucky enough to catch four to five pound
specks. Speckled trout fishing at Dossier is plentiful throughout the summer, the
weather or time of year doesn't seem to affect the fishing.
For more information about fishing at our camps check out our website or send
us an email. We are always happy to help you find a camp that best suits your
needs.

Camp Upgrades
Our outpost camps and equipment are in the
best condition they have ever been. Last year we
added a second refrigerator at Dibben, Wejin and
Goat and put a new larger fridge at Mosambik
Larger generators, as well as electric coffee
makers and toasters have been placed at
Mosambik, Easey, Duffy and Little Miss. We are also
putting shut off buttons for generators in the camp
to eliminate the walk at night to the geny station
Lobo and Little Miss have been completed to date.
We have been changing out our mattresses with
the new hospital grade, Another twenty were
replaced this past season. Garden hoses have been
added at our fish cleaning stations for ease of
cleaning up and have been a welcome addition.
‘Ten more motors were purchased in 2015, our anglers enjoy the quiet reliable engines and we enjoy the fuel savings.
[As always your suggestions for making your stay more comfortable are welcome.Mary and Kelly Sr.
Greetings to our past, present and future guests. Kelly and |
have stepped away from the day to day operations but are stl
involved in the business. Courtney looks after the office and
Kelly Jr is the base manager. Both are doing a great job and we
are very pleased with their excellent work.
Kelly Sr.can normally be found working in the carpenter shop
doing maintenance work required to keep the camps safe and
comfortable. He also takes care of the preliminary work and
rafting plans necessary for docks, walkways ee.
My jobs include the banking, paying the bills an filing in for
Courtney in the office as needed
Our lives have certainly changed. We are blessed with ten
grandchildren eight of which are boys. In the summer! spend a
considerable amount of time on our swimming dock. Activities
range from swimming, row boating, paddle boating as well as
water skiing. Winter months are spent watching and cheering
our grandsons at their hockey games
A vacation might be in our future this winter. So far our winter
has been unseasonably warm with litle snow, We may be
semi-retired but our lives are stil very busy and full

Moose Hunt Changes for 2016

pushed back one week by the Ministry of Natural Resources. We.
are offering an archery hunt that will run for one week at the end
of September, Each hunter will receive one adult tag, Ifyou are

Steve Dale was back helping around the base, doing
maintenance on our airplanes and flying the Beaver on the
‘occasional weekend. The Manttari boys, Makai and Fynn are
always willing to help out. They were busy carrying bags,
washing airplanes and camp checking with their dad, Matt
Guests are often surprised at how young they are because they
are such a big help on the dock.
This fall has been unseasonable warm and has allowed us to
do maintenance around the base. The last section of our seawall
that has been under construction for the past couple of years
was finally completed. We built a new pump house for more
reliable water at the base and to maintain our hockey rinkin the
winter months. With the lack of snow, we have had the
‘opportunity to do some major clean-up in and around our
outbuildings.
