Name Gomuku People around the world like to play games! In America, many peo- ple play tic-tac-toe. In England, a similar game is called Noughts and Crosses. In Japan, it’s called Gomuku. What do alll these games have in common? In each one, the players have to fig- ure out how to put X's and 0's in a certain order to win. Players also have to predict what their opponent will do. Play a game of Gomuku with a friend. Here's how: 1. One player writes X's. The other player writes O's. 2. Partners take turns writing their mark any- where on the game board. Players can write only one mark at a time. 3. The first player to get five marks in a row is the winner. The marks can be horizon- tal, vertical, or diagonal. ta Try This! ” Play Again!
