Unit-3
1. A circular lamina of 60 mm diameter rests on HP on a point 1 on the
circumference. The lamina is inclined to HP such that the top view of it is
an ellipse of minor axis 35 mm. the top view of the diameter through the
point 1 makes an angle of 45o with VP. (i) Draw the projections (ii)
Determine the angle made by the lamina with HP.
2. A thin rectangular plate of side 50 mm x 25 mm has its shorter side in the
HP and inclined at an angle of 30 0 to the VP . Project its front view when its
top view is a perfect square of 20 mm side.
3. A hexagonal prism side of base 25 mm and axis 50 mm long rests with one
of its base corners on HP such that its base makes an angle of 60 o to HP and
its axis is parallel to VP. Draw its projections.
4. Draw the projections of a square pyramid of 32 mm side of base and axis 55
mm. it is resting on HP on one of its base corners with a base side
containing the corner making 30o to HP. The axis is inclined at 30o to VP
and is parallel to HP. The vertex is away from the VP.

Unit-4
1. A square prism, side of base 30 mm and axis 60 mm long, rests with its base
on HP and one of its rectangular faces is inclined at 30 o to VP. A section
plane perpendicular to VP and inclined at 60o to HP cuts the axis of the
prism at a point 20 mm from its top end. Draw sectional top view and true
shape of section.
2. A triangular prism with a base side of 45 mm and height 60 mm rests on its
base on HP with a rectangular face perpendicular to VP. It is cut by an
auxiliary inclined plane such that the true shape of the section is an isosceles
triangle of maximum size.
3. A vertical chimney of 70 cm diameter joins a roof sloping at 35 o with
horizontal. The shortest portion over the roof is 32 cm. obtain the shape of
the sheet metal from which the chimney can be fabricated.
4. Draw the development of the lateral surface of a hexagonal prism of 24 mm
base edge and 68 mm height. An insect moves on its surface from a corner

on the base to the diametrically opposite corner of the top face by the
shortest route. Trace graphically the path of the insect in front view.

Unit-5
1. Draw the isometric projection of a cylinder of base 50 mm diameter and
70 mm height (i) when it rests with its base on HP/ its axis is vertical.
(ii) when its axis is horizontal
2. Draw the isometric projection of a hexagonal pyramid of side of base 30
mm and height 75 mm. when it is resting on HP such that an edge of the
base is parallel to VP.
3. Draw the front view, top view & side view of the given fig.

4. Draw the front view, top view & side view of the given fig
