Sociological Perspectives

1. Functional Perspective/Paradigm is a system that is composed of parts that


make it function as a whole. Each part represents a part of society and how they connect
to form equality and a structure. There are also social dysfunctions that affect how
society is controlled.
An example of functional perspective is how a society can be composed of is family, tradition,
and norms. It is relatable how humans need organs to work together for the entire body to
function as a whole.

2. Conflict Perspective/Paradigm tells us that we as people infer that is determined on how


an imbalance and contrary can cause changes in society. The main view of conflict
perspective is how it is a matter of inconsistency. Conflict theorists look at linked factors
such as race, social class, religion, culture, and etc to observe how they differ than
others. When conflict arises, so does change to it as well.
Some examples would be how middle class/working class have no health insurance due to cost.
The Affordable Care Act provided support to lower costs and have Americans under health
coverage. American being heavily taxed by the British government, sterning the American
Revolution.

3. Interactionist Perspective describes how one individual socializes and reacts to another.
It creates how people interaction can viewed as. Symbols are the main basis of
interactionist perspective as it provides meaning to society.
Symbols as such laughing can be viewed as happiness or confusion. A hand wave can be
interpreted as saying hello or saying good bye.
