Job Responsibilities
Graphic designers create visual concepts on a daily basis. They can do this by hand or by using
computer software. They use this to communicate, inform, or capture the attention of consumers. They
lay down the layout for advertisements, brochures, magazines, and corporate reports.

Work Environment
Graphic Designers normally work in studios where they can use drafting tables, computers, and
the software necessary to creating all of their designs. Most graphic designers work independently, but
those who dont usually work for a firm with a design team. Graphic designers will also compare and
share ideas with others around the world to help them design. Graphic designers work full time, but this
can change due to product deadlines.

Specialized Skills
As a graphic designer you should have analytical skills, artistic ability, communication skills,
computer skills, creativity, and time-management skills. These skills are very important for
communication and brain storming ideas. You also must be knowledgeable with computer software and
applications.

Education Required
Bachelors degrees in graphic design or a related field are normally required. You could also get technical
training in graphic design, with a bachelors degree in another field, to meet most requirements. A
certificate in graphic design can give a jobseeker an edge.
