FEEDBACK
Incredibly thorough
and well considered
analyses throughout
your project. You are
demonstrating a
clear understanding
of the contextual
reference of artists
and these are well
chosen and
structured. Make
sure you do not
neglect the need to
describe the
technical elements
of these images
formal elements,
camera settings,
form and process.
Tenacious individual
contact sheets which
show breadth of
ideas and
imaginative
alterations. Ensure
future work is
uploaded as contact
sheets from this
point forward.
Superb
experimentation
however later work
is not documented.
Your later black and
white edits are
sometimes a bit lazy
strive to ensure the
atmosphere of your
circular photos are

Brief introductions of
why Kardinal, Anzeri and
Lindberg is vital to your
project. Make sure you
fully articulate how they
are impacting on your
own ideas for your own
work, rather than just
consider their work.

Your general layout

is good effective,
although it loses

nothing on your

tense, rigid, frozen,

secured, magnified, etc.

John Clang upload a

slideshow of your 6
strongest images from
photo-shoot to highlight
your technical skills. Edit
these to show your
attention to detail
(cropping, levels, colour
saturation).
You must fully annotate
all your work from
Chanarin onwards as this
is when your project is
becoming more refined
and focussed however
you are not representing
this in your supporting
material.
From the point of
Broomberg and Chanarin
your work loses vital
explanations and
considerations of how
one artist leads on to the
next. You must annotate
throughout in order to
justify your creative
decisions.

Additional tasks which MUST be completed:

1. Reshoot your documentary project to show a greater range of
camera skills if you stick with the shopping idea then think
more like Lewis Khan and have more intimate images of the
people involved and close-ups of the objects, store fronts,
walkways, means of travel, money. To make it more interesting

you could adopt of voyeuristic element and take images from

seemingly hidden locations, as if you were spying on these
shoppers. This would link well with the general concept of
your entire unit.
2. Create string experiments at home 2 installations across
walls, corners, corridors photograph and explain ideas.
3. Continue to photograph situations of people in public choose
a specific interaction to focus on people sat near each other
on public transport you looking through windows of busses
into the passengers sat on them (Dryden Goodwin) People in
queues people at bus stops people walking past one
another on the street (Phillip Lorca Di Corcia)
