Dear Parents,
On Tuesday, December 15th we will have an International Luncheon in our
classroom to celebrate learning about different countries and cultures as part of
our Social Studies unit Around the World! On this day the children will share
information and taste foods associated with different countries or traditions. Your
child will be eating lunch in our classrooms so they will not need their regular lunch.
I am asking students to bring in a food item that can be shared as part of our
international luncheon. If you are able to contribute a food item associated with
the country your child is working on or a special family dish please fill out the
bottom section. The children are working on small group activities and researching
information on the following countriesItaly, France, England, Spain, Egypt,
Australia, Russia, and China. (And the children have been learning about Mexico &
Germany in Host Nation and FLES classes) If you are able to contribute a food
item please bring it in by 11:30 on this day. We will have lunch from 11:30-12:30.
Also I will need parents to help from 11:15- 1:00. If you are able to help or you will
be coming please let me know by Monday, December 14th.
On Thursday, December 17th we will be having Our Polar Express Day where
the children may bring in a robe/or pajamas and slippers. We will be watching the
Polar Express Movie and enjoy milk and cookies!
Friday, December 18th is the last day of school before Winter Break!
Sincerely,
Diana Mebane
