Dear Families,
Hi, my name is Eleanor Wyant and I will be working as a student teacher for the next
eight weeks in your child's resource room with Ms. Kelly Vetter. I am working towards
a certification in teaching children in kindergarten through sixth grade as well as in
special education. This is the sixth and final semester of my training as a teacher. I have
also had the pleasure of working with diverse groups of students ranging from
kindergarten to eighth grade and including students who are English language learners
and students with exceptionalities in my previous student teaching experiences and
summer school teaching positions.
I'm originally from Chicago, but have been in school at Indiana University for the past
four years. Besides getting practical experience with children by being in the College of
Education and The Urban Teaching Project for three years, I have also worked for two
summers in Chicago as a teacher for refugee students and one summer as a teachers
aid for the Chicago Housing Authoritys youth. Outside of working with children, some
of my interests include traveling and reading. My goal upon graduating is to obtain a
teaching position in an inclusive, urban setting.
I will be working with the students in your child's class in various capacities both with
small and large groups in math, science, social studies, and language arts activities.
Gradually, I will increase my responsibilities with the students over the course of the
next eight weeks. I am excited to work with your child this semester. Please do not
hesitate to stop in, call or email me if you have time, as I would welcome the opportunity
to get to know you along with your child.
Sincerely,

Eleanor Wyant
