- A Wrinkle in Time is a science fiction story about a girl named Meg
whose father is a scientist. When her father disappears, she and her friends
go on a wild, fantastical adventure to try and find him.
- This classic science fiction novel could be used in a literature class to
initiate think-outside-the box discussion; a compare and contrast could be
meaningful for students to get them thinking about the reality of the world
around them. They could take time to point out the obvious, and not so
obvious, aspects of the science fiction world that LEngle creates in her story.
Then, the students could collaborate in groups to create their own short
stories involving some type of other-worldly environment or life forms.
