Behavior Concerns
I will try to communicate problems in an effective way, so that you can help reinforce classroom behavior
at home. PLEASE contact me if you have concerns or need things clarified.

o No Note-good day; first graders may need reminders of behavior throughout the day and
this is acceptable

First Note-warning! 3 reminders or more severe behavior occurred; miss 5min of recess;
note sent home

Second Note-3 reminders or more severe behavior happened twice during the day; miss
10 min of recess; note sent home

Principal Visit-child will go and see Mrs. Lines; note sent home and a phone call

1, 2, 3 Magic Variation
This is a positive behavior activity. When I catch a child doing something well, they can put a block in the
fish bowl. When all 40 blocks are in the fish bowl, then the whole class does a special activity together. An
example would be an extra recess at the end of the day or a game.

Character of the Day
We are focusing on a different character trait each day: respect, responsibility, trustworthy, caring,
citizenship, and fairness. Each day at the end of the day I will pick a Character of the Day. This is the
person who did a great job of showing this behavior. They will bring home a slip of paper.
