Information about SMTE 2015-16 conducted by DPS Society

Dear Parent,
It has always been an effort of this school to develop educational skills among its students and accord a fruitful
direction to their talent. In the global competitive scenario, Science and Mathematics play cognizable role. In order
to strengthen and further enrich Science and Mathematics education, the DPS Society conducts annually the DPS
Science & Maths Talent Examination (SMTE) exclusively for class IX students of Delhi Public Schools, in
collaboration with Science Olympiad Foundation (SOF). It is an opportunity to search for the leading prodigies and
to prepare them to take future challenges.

Examination will be held for DPS students at two levels. First Level examination for students of class
IX will be conducted at the school level on 2nd November 2015, Monday.
Top ranking approx. 600 students will be selected for the Level II examination. It will be conducted at
the designated DPS School in Delhi at the national level on Sunday, Dec.6, 2015.
After the evaluation, detailed report on each students performance will be prepared by SOF giving
topic wise strength/weakness analysis. The analysis will be used to further improve upon the level of
performance of the students.
Both the stages of examination will be purely based on Multiple Choice Questions (MCQs) which will
be based on reasoning and application and not on rote-learning.
While Participation certificate will be awarded to every student. Merit certificate will be awarded to all
students appearing in level II examination. A few of the top ranking students at the national level will
be suitably awarded too.
The DPS Society does not charge any fee for this exam.
