Add a bass line to the following two melodies by Handel, and label with Roman numerals and figured bass
symbols. Note that each melody includes a modulation to the dominantindicate the pivot chord of each.
Your harmonization should fit well with the melody. All non-harmonic tones should be used correctly
and labeled (P, N/IN, S, ECH, APP, ANT)otherwise, each melody note should be part of the harmony
implied by your bass and figures. Aim for a logical and clearly directed harmonic progression, guided by
the norms for harmonic movement outlined in Lecture 2. Working at the piano is highly recommended to
test the flow of your harmonization and its fit with the melody.
