The first title that appears in the

opening scene says, MILLENNIUM
FILMS PRESENTS which is the
production company which
produced the film in 2013.
Following that intertitle is the title
of the film: OLYMPUS HAS FALLEN
This text is written in bold capitals
and is filled with a moving image
which looks like a waving flag. This
enhances the idea of the American
background and conveys what the
film will be about.
These two main inter-titles are the
first thing the audience sees and
they are also two very important
pieces of information which is
essential to show to the audience in
the opening scene.

Following the main title the screen transitions into a fast

tracking shot across a snow covered forest in the late afternoon
so the sun is down and there is a snow storm. The shot then
stops on a house where an inter-title appears in the bottom left
hand corner which sets the scene.

This opening scene does not contain inter-titles which tell the
audience about members of staff that worked behind the
scenes, this is because the content at the beginning after this
shot is two guys boxing which is intense and creates thrill and
the sense of adrenaline. Therefore inter-titles may of distracted
from this so editors decided not to include the information and
wait until the credits at the end of the film.
