If using multiple servers ina small cluster, all servers must have their virtual IP address configured before you begin configuring the Accessory Server. ‘The VideoXpert Accessory Server operates in conjunction with servers runnin versions 1.6.8616.18 or later 2 versions 1.7.8617.34 or later and Media Gateway Before you stat the Accessory Server, ensure that it is connactad to the same network as your VideoXpertresourees. Take care when assigning the Accessory Server's IP address; you cannot change the adress after intial setup, as it becomes an integral pat of your VideoXpert network Start the accessory Server 2. Provide the P address you want to assign te the Accessory Server. 3. Provide the Netmask and Gateway ofthe Accessory Serve, Resur: The system completes the setup process and returns you toa command promot. You can now conneet to the Accessory Server's Web interface using the P address you assigned to it, through which you can configure services supporting your VideoXpert network. About the VideoXpert Accessory Server ‘Tho VideoXport accossory Sonor is designed to provide supplemental services for VideoXport, offloading your systom’s support require monts toa separate sorvar. The Accossory Sorvar provides the following services: * Actas. load balancer for a small cluster and provide active failover services: Tho Accossory Sorvor acts as a load balancer for mult-CMG clusters. Presently, the accessory Servers load balancer functionality is recommended for clusters of 2 (CMG servers; the servers inthe cluster must use the same virtual IP address to utilize the accessory Server as a load balancer. The load balancer maximizes the processing throughput of your VideoXpert servers while maintaining the availability of your ViceoXpert servers; should one ofthe servers inthe cluster fail, the others} will continue operating as normal * Actas an arbiter for your cluster: VideoXpert clusters must contain an odd numberof servers. fyourelusteras an even number of servers, you can enable the Accessory Servar's Arbiter servic, The arbiter provides the deciding vote in elections determining the primary server inthe cluster, the arbiter does not contain the system database. Setting your accessory Server as the clustr’s arbiter prevents you from having to run another server to provide arbitration services for the cluster * DHCP Server. The accessory server can acta the DHCP server for devices in your VideoXpert network, Youcan define the adress ranges supported on your network. + NTP Server: VideoXpert servers must be time-synchronizd to ensure proper operation, The accessory Server ean act as both an NTP server for your VideoXoert netwar, or simply as an NTP client ta remain synchronized with the rest of your VideoXpert devices. You must configure the accessory Server as either an NTP server a client you cannot save the accessory Server's configuration without selecting NTP options. Configuring the Accessory Server ‘Tho accossory Sorver's wob interface allows you to soloc the support sorvicos you want to run after configuring a srvico, you want to turn it of, simply doseloct the option in the wob intorfac. Load Balancer functionality requires all srvors in the cluster to use the same virtual IPacdross. You do not noed to enable the func tionality; the load balancer takes effect as soon as you point the accessory Server to the address of a CMG server inthe cluster. IP address of your accessory Server Open a web browser and go 2. Provide the IP address of a Core server. If your VideoXoert envionment contains a cluster of CMG servers, provide the virtual IP address of the CMG cluster 3. Provide the password of the admin user for VideoXpert 4. Select the support services you want to employ. 5. Select an NTP option. The accessory Server can act as an NTP cient, or an NTP sarvar for your VideoXpert network. Changing the IP Address ‘You cannot change the address ofthe accessory Server through the Web interface. You must SSH into the accessory Server, edit the interfaces filo and then restart the server. Enabling a Second Accessory Server (Failover) Select Enable 2nd Accessory Server'f running two accessory Serves in a failover (high- availability configuration In ahigh-avail- ability configuration, the accessory Server that yau configure fist will act asthe primary accessory Server; the sacondary server will came online only if the primary falls offline You only need to run the initial setup onthe secondary server. The primary server transfers settings tothe secondary automatically, You cannot configura the secondary server independent of the primary server; in the event of a failover, you must wait until the original primary server comes back online ta make configuration changes ta the accassory Server. Using the Accessory Server as an Arbiter Select Run Arbiteril your CMG environment contains an even number of servers and you want the accessory Server to act as the clustr's arbiter. The atbiter serves as the deciding vote in elections determining the primary server fr the cluster, but does not actually store the VideoXpert database or serve data to users Configuring DHCP Services Select Run DHCPit you want the accessory server to act as a DHC? server for your VideoXpert network. Provide the subnet IP, Netmask, Broadcast Address, Gateway Address, andP Range to configure DHCP services. Select ranges with an ample number of extra addresses to.over any cameras or VideoXpert devices you may add to the system late, presently. To add additional ranges, click Add Another. You cannot set or delete MAC reservations through the accessory Server interface at this time, Configuring NTP Services ‘You must configure the accessory sorver as an NTP sorvr or cliont before you can save your accessory sorvr's configuration. Sorvors and dovieos within VidooXpert must bo timo-synchronizad. Tho accessory sorver can act as an NTP cliont if your VidooXport network alroady contains an NTP server, if you opt to run as an NTP client, you must provide the address of an NTP server on tho network. Other ‘wise, you should configure the accessory sorvor as an NTP server. When enabling the NTP sorvr, you can provide time in one of two. ways: © Get time from another NTP server. select this option to get and verily time against another time server, you must provide the adatess of the NTP server providing time before you can save your configuration, © Set time manually. Select this option to manually seta date and time forthe VideoXgert system.
