Animals
Activity Time
This week we will continue learning about the different animals living on land. We will be focusing
more on the different habitats that the animals live. The students will learn what animals they can
find in each habitat and practice separating them into the different habitats.
Activities:
Phonics
Land Animals: a bear, a camel, a cow, a turtle, an elephant, a gorilla, a hippo, a horse, a lion, a
panda, a rabbit, a penguin, a seal, a fox, a koala, a giraffe, a monkey, a pig, a mouse, a zebra, a
snake, a donkey, a sheep, a kangaroo
Habitats: Jungle, desert, savannah and on the farm.

Walking in the Jungle
Going on a bear hunt
The Animals on the Farm
Making a poster on the wall in the classroom joining in with the sea animals poster
Writing and matching worksheets as well as drawing together on the board

This week in phonics we will be moving on to the -ug family of words. (jug, mug, bug, rug) We will
begin by going through the words letting the students practice reading them and checking the
meaning of the words. We will use our usual phonics games to practice the words.
