Re. Stephanie Gokam
Professional Semester 2
To Whom It May Concern:
In the spring of 2015, I had the opportunity to have Stephanie Gokam come to my
classroom as a student teacher. It was a pleasure to have her come to my school and take
‘my class. I fear that my students will regret the end of her time in my classroom as she
has taken het opportunity and run with it.
Stephanie can he characterized as a hard working, organized perfectionist. She is
striving to teach the perfect lesson and is working tirelessly to achieve it. I have come to
appreciate her diligence as she has sought to teach my students in a variety of ways
adapting to learning styles and personalities. Stephanie introduced my students to some
creative classroom activities that included making commercials, playing games as well as
developing critical thinking skills in my students.
Stephanie was open to suggestions that I made on her lessons and one of her most
important characteristics was her self-reflection on her lessons. When I would ask her
about how she thought about a lesson, she would seriously consider the lesson and how it
could have been improved. This self-reflection and critical self-analysis led her to
improve her teaching as her time progressed in this professional semester. Stephanie
wants to be a better teacher and she is working toward that goal with fervor.
Stephanie understands what it means to be a professional and treated those around
her with respect and dignity. That included students as well as adults. She was on time
and appropriately dressed for school, and wanted her students to know that they were
important to her. She came out to Magrath from Lethbridge to watch them perform. This
did not go unnoticed. She understands that her relationships are critical to her success in
the classroom.
Ido not have any reservations in recommending Stephanie Gokam as she moves
forward with her teaching experience. It has truly been my pleasure to work with her.
Please feel free to contact me should you require further explanation.
Yours truly,
Dan ChHlen—)

‘To Whom It May Concem:
thas been a pleasure to have Stephanie Gokam as an PSII Teacher in my grade 6
classroom. Throughout her time here she has taught grade 7 Social, some grade 9 Social,
and a few grade 9 PE classes.
Planning and preparation in my opinion are some of Stephanie's strongest traits as a
teacher. Her unit and lesson plans are always well thought cut and lead to student
engagement and learning. I have enjoyed sitting in on her lessons and have found myself
using some of her ideas within my own teaching. She uses 2 variety of ways to teach and
the students are always engaged in their learning.
Due to her exceptional planning methods Stephanie has had an easy transition into the
Assessment of her students learning. She has developed very broad methods of both
Formative and Summative assessments. By using exit slips, quizzes and a variety of
activities Stephanie has been able to track the learning of her students. She has also been
able help in determining which students would benefit from extra help and interventions.
From day one in the classroom Stephanie has shown wonderful communication skills
with students. She was also able to participate in parent teacher interviews while here.
Her communication with parents was very professional and well thought out.
When observing Stephanie’s teaching one sees that the students truly respect her. Her
‘management techniques allow her to have a great teacher/student relationship. She is able:
to move from group work to seat work without too much disruption to student learning.
Overall I have really enjoyed having Stephanie teach within my classroom she has been.
the ultimate professional day in and day out. She is a lifelong learner, which is evident
from the discussions that we have had about learning. Teaching outside of her subject
area has been a challenge that she has stepped up to and conquered. I would not hesitate
to recommend Stephanie for any teaching position that she felt up to. She will be very
successful in anything she puts her mind to.
