Preface
Knowledge of practical aspects of biochemistry is essential for a
medical student to understand diagnostic and prognostic status of
any ailment. We have always felt the need for a complete and
comprehensive book on orientation towards various aspects of
practical biochemistry. This book is written in simple language,
covering the practical syllabus for MBBS, BDS, BSc MLT and BSc
nursing students as per the curriculum and guidelines of Rajiv
Gandhi University of Health Sciences, Bangalore and most of other
Health Universities in India. The book includes both theory and
practical aspects of clinical biochemistry. A clear-cut practical
concept has been offered in the book in respect of all qualitative
and quantitative experiments. Chapters on Demonstration
Experiments such as colorimetry, electrophoresis, chromatography,
etc. are also included. Questions at the end of each chapters and
normal values of various biochemical parameters in blood and
urine are also included in this book.
We hope that this book will meet the requirement of undergraduate students studying biochemistry. We will be glad to accept
constructive criticism and suggestions from the faculty, students
and readers to make this book a better one in subsequent prints.
